So rock me mama like a wagon wheel
Rock me mama anyway you feel
Hey mama rock me
Rock me mama like the wind and the rain
Rock me mama like a south-bound train
Hey mama rock me”

Today’s Wonderful Nostalgia
This week has been relaxing, slow-paced, and felt like I was living in a time machine!
All caught up on the PBS show Downton Abbey. —Based in the early 1900’s before and on through WWI. LOVE THE SHOW! (thanks Soph) It’s a scandalous fictonal show about the complex drama of one household and it’s staff during some of the most glamourous and dramatic eras in British history.
based in 1916-1920 (so far)
Earlier in the week I went to see the movie Hugo with my friend Jan. We both had no clue as to what the movie was about, but boy were we pleasantly surprised! I had no idea that the film was a child-like point of view film resurrecting the passion behind filmmaking and innovation! what a way to tell a story! Bravo Scorsese!
based in 1931 (flashbacks from late 1800s to early 1900s)
After watching and reading all the hype about The Artist, I finally had to see it on my last free day at home! So I asked my grandmother (whom I figured would enjoy the film as much as I… I was right :] ) to join me this afternoon. BOY WHAT A TREAT! :D
based in 1927 and 1932
Then afterwards, we spotted a new ice cream parlour across the street (Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour). We had such an urge to try this new nostalgic novelty after the film, we ordered the basic chocolate and vanilla ice cream sundae :) yumm!
est. 1963 (Brea establishment opened Dec. 2011)
I love that the memory of the past is no longer a memory anymore. It’s a reality we all can see and experience!!
